Off The Beaten Path - X-Mas Show

Welcome back my friends, to the show that never ends...well, technically, it ends after about 2 hours, but you know what I mean.  This is my X-Mas Show...it's a straight edge Christmas...I'm a little sleep deprived.  Let's get all the formalities out of the way.  This will be premiering Monday 12/19/11 @ 12PM, replays on Wednesday 12/21/11 @ 4PM and Friday 12/23/11 @ 8PM (perfect for a Holiday party).  See how to listen on Rock401.com

The first show of the New Year won't be until Monday 1/9/12...giving everyone involved a couple weeks off during the holidays.  The first show of the year will be the Bands/Performers That Should Be In The RNRHOF, But Are Not Show.  Only artists that have released their first album at least 25 years ago, are eligible.  Using the Rock Hall's qualifications.

Off The Beaten Path - Show #14

We are back for another installment of Off The Beaten Path on Rock401.com.  There will be one more show before 2011 goes away.  The Christmas show will be airing in the middle of the month on 12/19/11.  Let's not get ahead of ourselves, because I believe show #14 is as good as any other show I've put together.  I hope you all enjoy listening to it.  The premiere date is Monday, 12/5/11 @ 12PM EST...with replays on Wednesday, 12/7/11 @ 4PM and Friday, 12/9/11 @ 8PM.

Lastly, I'll be doing another themed show after the New Year, about bands/performers that should be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame (that aren't).  Not sure when, but it'll probably be late January or early February.  Nominate bands for that show...that's always a great debate.  They have to be eligible for nomination.  Basically, it has to be 25 years since they released their first album.

Off The Beaten Path On FaceSpace/MyBook

Just something different I found

I finally took the show to Facebook.  I figured it's much easier to find everything in one spot.  I'll still post my playlists here before the show and they will also get posted on Facebook.  It's the K.I.S.S. theory...Keep It Simple Stupid.

Also, since most of the world uses Facebook...no, really they do...they made a movie about it...I figure the odds that I'll get song requests would be better.  So, here goes nothing...like usual.

Off The Beaten Path Show # 10

This is a very special show, because I'm giving away a prize.  No, I'm not kidding...more about that in a few minutes.  This is already the 10th show of Off The Beaten Path.  I just like playing music and promoting bands that many haven't had the chance to hear before.  Anything I can do to help out a band that I like, I'll do.  All bands are struggling...unless they are a household name.  Those are few and far between these days.  On with the playlist.

On to the prize...If you can tell me what the Hair Metal Song of The Week (I always point it out, but not this show) is...I'll give you free entry into The Benefit Concert for Mark Smith on October 29th at Ri Ra in Providence, RI.  Of course, you kinda have to be in the New England area to get this prize...sorry to all my listeners out of the area.  It's a hell of a value...There will be three great bands playing that night and a raffle that is growing by the day.  So, you can use the money you save on getting into the show to buy raffle tickets.

All answers must be emailed to me personally here.  We'll exchange some info and I'll put you on the list.  Take advantage of it.  Also here is the poster for the show...which Bragg Art & Design did as a favor.

Off The Beaten Path Show # 9

Hey look...it's your 43rd favorite internet radio show back again for another go round.  Bands you thought you left behind in high school and others you've never heard of.  In all seriousness, all the music I play is good, on some level...other levels might just be higher than others.

It's also the first show where I talk about the benefit concert for my friend Mark that I'm putting together.  Now, there is a team working on this concert with me...which is fantastic.  I hope it goes as well as I'd like it to.  On with the new play list, premiering this Monday on Rock401.com

Off The Beaten Path Show # 8

Monday 8/8/11 @ 12PM ET, Wednesday 8/10/11 @ 4PM ET and Friday 8/12/11 @ 8PM ET...Show # 8...I'm very proud it's gone on so long.  This will most likely be the only show for August.  We have our family vacation and the christening for the baby the very next week.  Just not enough time with the technology that is needed, but I'm still going to give it a shot.

I'd do it on vacation, but we unplug for that entire week.  As off-grid as we can get.  It's a beautiful thing...I suggest doing that for at least a weekend every six months or so.  You're not really missing anything...it'll all be there when you get back.

Off The Beaten Path Show #5 - Take 4

I've been informed that all the previous problems have been repaired, solved and fixed.  So, I'm excited again for the first time, to promote and announce the play list again for show #5 of Off The Beaten Path.  Which premieres Wednesday June 15th at 12PM ET.  Then also replays on Thursday June 16th at 4PM ET and Friday June 17th at 8PM ET.  With the off week show for the early birds and listeners in other countries on Saturday June 24th at 8AM.  Please listen at any one of these times, because I'd really like to grow this show, like the blog has grown.  The record for number of page views was broken last month and this month, I'm on pace to smash that record.  I'd love for the radio show to take off like that, but I'm patient.

Off The Beaten Path Show #5 - Went Boom

This is the picture of my radio show.  It was doomed to fail this week.  First, the Technical Difficulties.  Paul Gilbert kicked down the door and played that song.  Then a pretty large thunderstorm kept the producer with no power for the entire time he was trying to remedy the situation.

So with a heavy heart, we're going to skip this week and move it to next Wednesday June 15th at the regular time of 12PM ET.  Please tune then.  There will not be another baby born or hopefully any other issues and the show will smoothly.

I'll leave you with this:
